The 61,000-square-foot hospital will help patients recover from neurosurgical and orthopedic conditions including strokes, neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries as well as amputations.
Encompass operates 133 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in the U.S. with one in Illinois.
It plans to hire around 90 physicians, nurses, therapists and other staff in the planned hospital’s first year of operations, and increasing to 165 by the fifth year.
The proposal will be reviewed by Libertyville’s advisory plan commission on Dec. 9.
