Dr. Cheerag Upadhyaya to serve as Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute co-surgical director: 7 highlights

Kansas City, Mo.-based Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute named Cheerag D. Upadhyaya, MD, a surgical co-director.

Here are seven highlights:

 

1. Dr. Upadhyaya has served as an interim surgical co-director since 2016.

 

2. He will work with Stanley P. Fisher, MD, who has served as the institute’s medical co-director since 2015.

 

3. Dr. Upadhyaya helped create the Saint Luke’s Spine and Sports Medicine Clinic. He also is the chief of Saint Luke’s Neurological and Spine Surgery.

 

4. He specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery.

 

5. Dr. Upadhyaya also is a clinical assistant professor of surgery and orthopedics at University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine.

 

6. He completed his complex and minimally invasive spine surgery fellowship at University of California, San Francisco.

 

7. Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute is a part of Kansas City, Mo.-based Saint Luke’s Health System.
