AMA introduces new STEPS Forward education modules, MACRA resources: 5 points

The American Medical Association has introduced eight new modules as part of its STEPS Forward collection of physician-developed interactive educational modules.

Here are five points:

 

1. The modules offer guidance on topics that include practicing value-based care, medical assistant professional development, care transition teams, patient registration, quality improvement and point of care registries.

 

2. Launched in June 2015 by the AMA, STEPS Forward offers a free series of 35 educational modules.

 

3. Continuing medical education credit can be earned from each module.

 

4. Additionally, the AMA has created a set of online resources to support physician preparations for new Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act rules and regulations.

 

5. The MACRA resources include a guide to physician-focused payment models as well as key points of MIPS.
