AAOS to Host First Orthopaedic Quality Institute on Capitol Hill

In October, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons will host the first Orthopaedic Quality Institute on Capital Hill, which aims to bring together orthopedic professionals with government representatives to discuss trends and priorities related to orthopedic care, according to an AAOS Now report.

OQI will allow groups such as healthcare providers, payors, customer advocates and healthcare purchasers to discuss the future of orthopedic care with government representatives. Participants in the gathering will also assess current AAOS quality initiatives, such as the American Joint Replacement Registry and clinical practice guidelines.

Kevin J. Bozic, MD, MBA, and Kristy L. Weber, MD, will co-chair the OQI meeting. Carolyn Clancy, MD, director of the Agency for healthcare Research and Quality, will deliver the key note address.
