3M’s Bair Hugger optimizes surgical body warming: 4 details

St. Paul, Minn.-based 3M’s Bair Hugger warming blanket has kept patients warm while making surgery and checkup easier for patients.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. The blanket bends and conforms to the patient’s body and preserves normal core temperature with forced-air warming systems.

 

2. Product developments allow the blanket to “warm patients in a variety of positions and procedures,” according to 3M Technical service specialist Melissa Bailey.

 

3. The Bair Hugger keeps a lower profile and has a new air channel design.

 

4. There are more than 170 studies on the Bair Hugger system, including 60 randomized controlled clinical trials, according to Faw Facts.
