Alphatec Spine posted first quarter revenue of $49.7 million, which is a 40.9 percent increase over the first quarter of 2010. The company’s success is attributable to a boost in sales from PureGen and FDA clearance of the Solus anterior lumbar interbody fusion system.
ArthroCare posted first quarter revenue of $87.9 million, representing a 1.3 percent decrease from the same quarter last year. The company’s sports medicine product sales slumped during this quarter, decreasing from $60 million in the first quarter of 2010 to $56.7 million during the same 2011 period.

Wright Medical Group reported first quarter net sales of $135.4 million, a 3 percent increase over the net sales of the first quarter last year. The company’s sales were driven by hip products, accounting for $45.9 million, followed by knee products, accounting for $32.8 million.
Zimmer reported $1.1 billion in nets sales for the first quarter, a 5 percent increase compared to the first quarter of 2010. The company’s success was driven by its reconstructive products, contributing $842 million from worldwide sales.
