Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center debuts regenerative meniscus repair implant

Paul Fleissner, MD, of Fairlawn, Ohio-based Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center is the first surgeon to use the RejuvaKnee implant for meniscus repair.

The surgery was done for a college-aged athlete who had chronic pain from a previous meniscectomy, according to a Feb. 6 news release. RejuvaKnee, developed by Regenity Biosciences, has FDA clearance and has been shown to support a more complete recovery by facilitating regeneration of native meniscus tissue.

Dr. Fleissner plans to perform more meniscus repairs with the implant, the release said.
