Biologic medtech company to expand Florida facility, add jobs

RTI Surgical, which develops biologic implants, is expanding its facility in Alachua, Fla., The Gainesville Sun reported April 18.

The company is spending $15 million to create a 5,000-square-foot clean room at its plant in Progress Corporate Park. The facility has been open since 1998 and employs 338 people.

The expansion will add jobs, but exact numbers were not reported.

RTI Surgical creates bone implants, membranes and soft tissue grafts for spine, orthopedics, trauma, dental and reconstructive uses.
