Four things to know:

1. Dr. Cahueque performed a sacroiliac arthrodesis for sacroiliac dysfunction in a 70-year old patient at the Hospital Centro Médico in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He used three SacroFuse screws to fuse the sacroiliac joint.

2. The SacroFuse is designed to minimize tissue disruption. The surgeons used NanoFuse’s Orthobiologic, a biologic combination of demineralized bone matrix and bioactive glass, to enhance the fusion.

3. “This new less invasive treatment opens new options for the treatment of this pathology for patients with chronic sacroiliac joint pain,” said Dr. Cahueque. He plans to perform another SacroFuse/NanoFUSE case.

4. KICVentures is the parent company of both SpineFrontier and NanoFuse Biologics. SpineFrontier distributes NanoFuse’s products.
