Zimmer Biomet and former executive Kristoff Goson have resolved the lawsuit the orthopedic device company filed in July, which alleged he took trade secrets before becoming CEO of Pixee Medical.
The parties filed a stipulation of dismissal Nov. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, dismissing all claims and counterclaims with prejudice. Each side will bear its own fees and costs, according to the filing, which does not disclose any other terms.
“Zimmer US, Inc. and Kristoff Goson have resolved the litigation that was pending between them in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. All claims and counterclaims have been dismissed with prejudice. The resolution involves no admission of liability or wrongdoing by any party,” the parties said in a joint statement shared with Becker’s.
Zimmer US, a Zimmer Biomet subsidiary, sued Mr. Goson in July, alleging he sent confidential company information to his personal email, downloaded thousands of company files and violated a noncompete agreement after joining Pixee Medical. The company sought an injunction barring him and Pixee from using its confidential information, along with an 18-month bar on Mr. Goson working with or supporting Pixee. Mr. Goson later filed counterclaims against Zimmer US.
Mr. Goson spent more than two decades at Zimmer Biomet, where he led commercial transformation and helped develop several of the company’s orthopedic technologies. Zimmer Biomet terminated him for cause March 12, 2026.
