Orthopedic surgery chair among 6 endowed Children’s Mercy faculty roles

Kansas City, Mo.- Children’s Mercy honored six faculty members with endowed appointments, including Kathryn Keeler, MD, as the Dr. Brad and Dawn Olney Chair in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Keeler was among the faculty members recognized during the health system’s investiture ceremony on Aug. 20.

The other appointments span graduate medical education, connective tissue disorders care, pediatric molecular oncology and cancer immunotherapy. Sherwin Chan, MD, PhD, received the Gallagher Family Endowed Professorship in Excellence.

The endowed appointments provide clinicians, researchers and educators with protected time and resources for their work, according to an Aug. 24 the health system news release.
