U.S. Orthopaedic Partners, an integrated orthopedic care platform, and Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons, a multilocation orthopedic group, are planning to build an ASC in Montgomery, Ala.

The ASC will include four operating rooms, with space for two additional ORs, two specialized procedure rooms and robotic-assisted technology for joint replacement procedures, according to an Oct. 27 news release from USOP.

The groundbreaking follows an Oct. 9 ruling by the Alabama Supreme Court, clearing the way for the center.

U.S. Orthopaedic Partners supports 10 orthopedic practices across the Southeast.

Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons currently has five locations in Alabama and provided care since 1996, according to its website.

Construction on the facility is expected to begin in November, with an expected opening of spring 2028, the release said.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
