Todd Lanman, MD, a spinal neurosurgeon at Beverly Hills, Calif.-based Lanman Spinal Neurosurgery, returned to operating five days after undergoing his 12th spine surgery and eighth lumbar procedure.

Joel Beckett, MD, and Luke Macyszyn, MD, performed the July 30 procedure to treat lumbar spinal stenosis at L2-L3 and L3-L4, according to an Aug. 19 news release. They decompressed both levels to relieve pressure on the lumbar nerve roots.

The surgeons also removed hardware crossing both sacroiliac joints that may have been contributing to sacroiliac pain.

Dr. Lanman returned to seeing patients the following Monday and resumed operating Aug. 4.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
