Medical device company Biotronik Neuro has acquired a portfolio of intellectual property related to spinal cord stimulation from Soin Neuroscience.

The patents include technologies in spinal cord stimulation waveform design, adaptive programming, and the application of machine learning and AI to neuromodulation therapy, according to a July 15 news release from Soin Neuroscience.

The two organizations entered into a research collaboration in December 2025, focused on evaluating novel waveforms.

Biotronik Neuro plans to use the technology for the development of a new spinal cord stimulation program within its chronic pain portfolio.

Soin Neuroscience, founded by pain management physician Amol Soin, MD, will continue to operate as an independent company.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the release said.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
