Orthopedic surgery company Pixee Medical has appointed Kristoff Goson as its next CEO.

Mr. Goson served as global vice president and general manager of Zimmer Biomet for more than two decades, leading businesses generating more than $1 billion in annual revenue, and scaling multiple orthopedic technology franchises, according to a June 29 news release from Pixee Medical.

As CEO, Mr. Goson will drive the company’s global strategy, commercial execution and U.S. expansion.

Pixee Medical develops augmented reality systems for orthopedic procedures, providing an alternative to surgical robots.

The company’s technology has supported more than 10,000 orthopedic procedures in more than 20 countries, and received FDA 510(k) clearance for its augmented reality platform for total knee arthroplasty in April, the release said.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
