Boston orthopedic surgeon Sarav Shah, MD, is among the first physicians in the U.S. to use Advita Ortho’s Equinoxe scapula reconstruction system.
The system is designed to treat fractures of the acromion and scapular spine, shoulder blade injuries that can occur after trauma or as a complication of reverse shoulder replacement surgery. The device includes precontoured plates and fixation options that stabilize fractures while conforming to the shoulder’s anatomy, according to a June 26 release.
The system provides a treatment option for fractures that have historically lacked implants built specifically for these injuries. It is intended to support fracture healing and restore shoulder function.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
