Stryker reached a key milestone with its Mako robotics, Jason Beach, vice president of finance and investor relations, said in a July 31 earnings call.

During the second quarter Stryker reached 2 million procedures with Mako robotics, Mr. Beach said, as transcribed by investing.com.

“We are the clear leader in orthopedic robotics and continued to launch new applications such as Revision Hip, which is receiving very positive surgeon feedback,” he said. “Also, we delivered our best ever Q2 for Mako installations, both in the U.S. and worldwide, with high utilization rates across the globe. We expect sustained momentum from installations and utilization to continue to drive growth in our hips and knees businesses.”

Stryker’s U.S. hip and knee businesses saw single-digit growth in the second quarter, both in part to Mako growth, Preston Wells, Stryker’s CFO said in the earnings call.
