Highridge Medical licensed the U.S. rights for the activL lumbar artificial disc implant, according to a July 8 news release.
The company is “imminently” beginning production for the launch of its activL disc for later in 2025. Highridge’s disc replacement portfolio also includes the Mobi-C disc for 1- and 2-level cervical disc replacements.
“True to our continued commitment to bringing unique motion preservation solutions to market, the activL lumbar disc is a great strategic fit for our business,” Rebecca Whitney, CEO of Highridge, said in the release. “This addition expands our leadership position in spinal motion preservation solutions to now include lumbar disc arthroplasty with a solution already trusted and preferred by many spine surgeons.”
