Biomet Launches Signature Personalized System for Oxford Partial Knee

Biomet launched its Signature Personalized Patient Care System for use with the Oxford Partial Knee System, allowing surgeons to preoperatively plan the procedure and promotes more precise implant placement, according to a company news release.

The system creates a custom femoral and tibial surgical positioning guide for the partial knee replacement. The Oxford Partial Knee allows surgeons to remove 75 percent less bone and cartilage compared to total knee replacement, according to the release. The procedure is indicated for patients with osteoarthritis or avascular necrosis in the medial compartment and the implant should be used with bone cement.
