Medtronic names new CFO

Medical devicemaker Medtronic has appointed Thierry Piéton as CFO.

Mr. Piéton most recently served as CFO of Renault Group, a car manufacturer based in France, according to a Jan. 21 news release from Medtronic. 

In the role, Mr. Piéton will be responsible for leading the Medtronic global finance organization and key supporting functions, including treasury, controller, tax, internal audit, investor relations, corporate strategy and business development.

Mr. Piéton will join the Medtronic Executive Committee and report to Geoff Martha, the company’s chairman and CEO.

Gary Corona, who has been serving as Medtronic’s interim CFO, will become senior vice president, corporate finance and remain on the company’s executive committee. 

The appointment is effective March 3, the release said.
