The first surgery using Spine Innovation’s LOGIC Titanium Implant System was performed Oct. 14 at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, Calif.
Robert Eastlack, MD, an orthopedic spine surgeon, performed the procedure using the expandable interbody implant designed for transforaminal lumbar fusion, according to an Oct. 20 news release.
The implant is designed to restore disc height and spinal alignment while resisting subsidence and expulsion. It expands to an 18 x 26 mm footprint and incorporates OsteoSync Ti, a titanium lattice material from Sites Medical.
OsteoSync Ti has been used in more than 350,000 orthopedic and spine patients since 2014. An earlier version of the LOGIC implant was manufactured from polyether ether ketone, or PEEK, and previously used in the U.S.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
