When OrthoSC added the robot, it was the first of its kind in the state and the first outpatient joint replacement system in the area, according to a Jan. 17 news release sent to Becker’s.

Dr. Brothers is a joint replacement specialist who has been offering knee replacements using the Velys system since 2021. He has been practicing at OrthoSC since 2016.

The release claims the Velys robot offers patients a number of benefits, including less blood loss, faster recovery times and tailored plans for each specific patient.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
