The Mary and Fred Trump Institute for Implant Analysis will engage in projects to promote better joint reconstruction procedures. The donation was also made in recognition of Philip Wilson, Jr., MD, an orthopedic surgeon at HSS who treated Mr. and Mrs. Trump.

The Institute currently includes a joint replacement registry, which it has kept for nearly 34 years. Information from the registry has been used to establish the mechanical performance of new implant designs and study the influence of patient characteristics and surgical variations on patient outcomes.
