Good Samaritan’s spine surgery program was established through a collaboration by the hospital and Cincinnati-based Mayfield Brain & Spine.
To be eligible for the recognition, organizations must implement evidence-based care and clinical practice guidelines, participate in the American Spine Registry and collect performance measurement data on surgical site infection rates, new neurological deficits, unplanned return visits to the operating room and pre-operative and post-operative patient reported outcomes.
Systems also undergo an unannounced onsite review.
