Andy Murray announces retirement weeks after spine surgery

Tennis player Andy Murray announced his retirement in a July 23 post on X, formerly known as Twitter, weeks after he had spine surgery.

Mr. Murray said in his post that he arrived in Paris for the 2024 Olympics and the competition would be his last.

In June, he had back surgery to address a spinal cyst, and he dropped out of the Wimbledon singles competition.
