Dr. Singh will help manage the orthopedic service line at Rush University Medical Center while also maintaining his role as co-director of the Minimally Invasive Spine Institute at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. He is also founder and president of the Minimally Invasive Spine Study Group.
“I am excited to take on these two new roles within the department,” Dr. Singh told Becker’s. “It’s an amazing time to be at Rush, where collaboration and alignment for the future have never been more important. I hope to re-invigorate the orthopedic service line within the hospital and help re-establish inpatient orthopedic care at Rush. I am also proud to take over the division of spine surgery from such amazing thought leaders who have preceded me, including Dr. Gunnar Andersson, Dr. Howard An and Dr. Frank Phillips.”
Dr. Singh has been a professor in the department of orthopedic surgery since 2005 and has published more than 450 peer review articles and 250-plus book chapters during his career. He has a particular focus on minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preservation and endoscopic spine surgery.
Dr. Singh earned his medical degree at Philadelphia-based Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency at Chicago-based Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center. He underwent his fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta.
