Orthopedic activity heats up in the South: 8 moves in 2 months

Here are eight orthopedic practice openings, additions, affiliations and partnerships taking place in the South that Becker’s has reported on since Feb. 19:

1. Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice (Fla.) opened 34 new inpatient orthopedic suites.

2. Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic and Lafayette-based Louisiana Orthopedic Specialists announced plans to merge.

3. Telehealth company Remission Medical North partnered with Chesterfield-based OrthoVirginia.

4. Webster Springs, W.Va.-based Webster Memorial Hospital opened the Orthopedic Outreach Clinic at the Cowen Clinic.

5. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Nova Ortho and Spine opened its first location in Georgia.

6. Lakeland, Fla.-based Watson Clinic opened an orthopedic office in Winter Haven, Fla.

7. Salisbury, Md.-based Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates partnered with Wilson Choy, MD, and his practice in Lewes, Del.

8. Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute unveiled its relocated Lake Nona office in Orlando, Fla.
