8 orthopedic facility transactions in 2023

2023 was a big year for medical office building acquisitions and trades, with several facilities housing orthopedic practices being traded and constructed.

Here are eight orthopedic facility transactions from the last year: 

1. A 37,731-square-foot medical office building in Torrington, Conn., anchored by Litchfield Hills Orthopedic Associates sold to a partnership between Sendero Capital and Angelo Gordon for $8.1 million. 

2. A 93,386-square-foot medical building in Oak Brook, Ill., 99% leased to Rush University System for Health with a long-term lease with Rush and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, sold to joint venture partners Remedy Medical Properties and Kayne Anderson Real Estate.

3. Two Katy Pain & Spine physicians, Nimish Dave, MD, and Karan Madan, MD, are part of a team of five physicians spearheading the development of a three-story medical office building in Katy, Texas. Katy Pain & Spine will open its second practice location on the second floor of the newly developed building. 

4. Canfield, Ohio-based Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates has opened a $14 million medical office building in Boardman, Ohio. 

5. Morrisville, Vt.-based Copley Hospital broke ground on the 10,000-square-foot Mansfield Orthopedics Waterbury (Vt.) medical office building to replace the system’s existing medical office building. 

6. Columbus, Ohio-based Orthopedic One plans to build a 60,000-square-foot medical office building in a medical development in Gahanna, Ohio, with GI and psychological tenants planning to enter the development. 

7. Big Sky Medical acquired a 20,695-square-foot, two-building property in Modesto, Calif., housing an orthopedic practice and an ASC. 

8. Montecito Medical acquired the medical office building housing the Midwest Center for Joint Replacement in Indianapolis.
