The PathKeeper system allows surgeons to create a surgical plan and accurately navigate single-level lumbar degenerative spinal fusion surgeries, according to a Nov. 16 press release.
The system was designed to replace traditional navigation technology with a 3D system that offers more comprehensive planning and active, independent submillimeter registration and tracking of the patient anatomy and surgical instruments.
It also helps surgeons to pinpoint the accuracy of device implantation, creates more efficiency in the surgical workflow and eliminates radiation exposure.
PathKeeper was first used in the U.S. in June after earning FDA clearance earlier in the month.
