Arkansas hospital adds Mazor X robot

Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. added Medtronic’s Mazor X spine robot, CBS affiliate 5 News reported Nov. 14.

Alex Castellvi, MD, is one of the surgeons trained to use the robot, which can help improve precision with implant and instrumentation placement.

“It creates a much better workflow in the operating room, where, you know, we’re able to get patients on the table and off the table much faster,” Dr. Castellvi said in the report.

Mercy Hospital is the only hospital in the region to use the robot.
