Abrazo Health expands spine robotics program

Phoenix-based Abrazo Health is growing its robotic spine program and added the ExcelsiusGPS to its Glendale, Ariz.-based Arrowhead Campus, YourValley.net reported Aug. 22.

This is the second ExcelsiusGPS robot the health system bought. In 2021, Abrazo West Campus in Goodyear, Ariz. added the robot and surpassed 100 cases with it in 2022. The same hospital also purchased at Loop-X spine robot last year.

Kenneth Hood, DO, is trained to use the robot at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus. The ExcelsiusGPS assists surgeons with hardware placement and increases precision.
