Mr. McDonald had previously been working with CEO King Floyd on multiple projects, SpineNet said Aug. 4. He founded distribution company High Ground Medical in 2003.
Mr. McDonald has also held executive and management positions with Stryker, Biomet (now Zimmer Biomet), Synthes (now part of Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy Synthes) and Orthovita, which is now owned by Stryker.
