Medtronic board taps Pfizer executive as independent director

Medtronic named Lidia Fonseca as an independent director of its board of directors.

Ms. Fonseca, executive vice president and chief digital and technology officer at Pfizer, will serve on Medtronic’s compensation committee and science and technology committee, according to a June 27 news release. She has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare innovation.

At Pfizer, she oversees digital strategy and technology. Recently she led the company’s digital team to help accelerate the development of a COVID-19 vaccine.
