Dr. Andrew Wassef completes 1,000th robotic-assisted surgery

Andrew Wassef, MD, completed his 1000th joint replacement surgery using Mako SmartRobotics technology.

Dr. Wassef is the medical director of the MemorialCare Joint Replacement Center at Long Beach (Calif.) Medical Center and specializes in orthopedic surgery.

Mako’s SmartRobotics technology provides a 3D model of patient anatomy to help surgeons during the pre-planning stage and with placement of joint implants.
