Lee Health 1st in southwest Florida to add spine robot

Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health became the first in southwest Florida to add the ExcelsiusGPS robot for spine surgery.

Along with ExcelsiusGPS, Lee Health’s robotic surgery program includes the da Vinci Xi system, according to an April 14 news release. The new spine robot can be used for some brain surgeries as well.

ExcelsiusGPS combines a robotic arm with full navigation capabilities. It allows surgeons to operate using a small incision and can help patients recover quicker.
