ZipFlex is a minimally invasive posterior implant for motion preservation, but it can be converted to act as a fusion or nonfusion device, according to a Feb. 7 news release. The patent is intended to strengthen the company’s intellectual property portfolio and help commercialize devices.
“This patent allowance helps Aurora widen its future product offering for the nonfusion spine surgery and develop a two-in-one solution that is currently missing from the toolbox of doctors,” Laszlo Garamszegi, Aurora Spine’s chief technology officer, said in the release.
