Michigan hospital adds 2 spinal surgery devices

McLaren Greater Lansing (Mich.) has added the Brainlab navigation system and an OHX microscope for spinal surgery, the hospital said Jan. 19.

The Brainlab surgery system provides a CT scan that helps physicians accurately place spinal hardware, leading to fewer long-term complications and less radiation for patients.

The OHX microscope includes special lenses for spinal surgery for more precise movements. It also has a camera that projects the surgeon’s view on larger screens in the operating room.
