Robotics company secures seed capital to develop orthopedic navigation technology

New York City-based robotics company Caira Surgical received $5 million in seed capital.

The company’s proprietary technology is a radar tracking system for knee replacement surgery that has submillimeter accuracy, according to a Jan. 4 news release. 

The funding is expected to help Caira Surgical further develop its technology. Previous capital Caira has received includes a $256,000 grant to research and develop radar-based tracking.
