ClearPoint Neuro partners with engineering company to develop robotic system

Irvine, Calif.-based ClearPoint Neuro has partnered with San Diego-based D&K Engineering to develop a robotic system.

Here’s what you should know:

1. ClearPoint Neuro is working on a robotic system for both the operating room and MRI suite, according to a May 10 news release.

2. The robot is expected to automate some surgical planning and navigation, ClearPoint president and CEO Joe Burnett said.

3. The first clinical use of the robot is expected to be in 2023.
