Four things to know:
1. Singing River performs more than 900 orthopedic surgeries annually, including spinal fusions, joint replacements and revision surgeries.
2. Mississippi’s first robotic spine surgery was performed at Singing River using the ExcelsiusGPS system, according to the hospital’s website.
3. The hospital’s robotic program also features Stryker’s Mako robot for joint replacements.
4. Singing River is the first along the Gulf Coast to receive the designation, according to the report.
