In 2020, Joimax shifted to online learning and reached about 3,000 surgeons through 60 virtual sessions. The company said it has reached about 700 surgeons so far in 2021.
Joimax is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The Endoscopic Spine Academy was founded by Wolfgang Ries, the company’s CEO and founder, in 2019.
To support the rollout, Joimax has introduced more labs into local, onsite training programs. The company expanded existing facilities in Karlsruhe, Germany, and Irvine, Calif., and added new labs in Houston, Minneapolis and New York City, among others.
More than 120 surgeons were trained in onsite workshops in 2021, 70 of whom were in the U.S. and Mexico, according to Joimax.
“Our goal is to be globally present online, as well as to provide direct local support,” Mr. Ries said in a March 31 news release. “It’s becoming increasingly important to have a personal, on-site presence in order to teach globally-valid learning content.”
