Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Theodore Wagner of UW Medicine

Theodore Wagner, MD, is a spine surgeon at Seattle-based UW Medicine.

Dr. Wagner, a clinical professor of orthopedics and sports medicine, specializes in spine surgery. His clinical interests include scoliosis, spine trauma and spine degeneration.

He received his medical degree from Philadelphia-based Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and completed a spine fellowship at the University of Hong Kong in China. He also did an orthopedic residency at the University of Washington School of Medicine and an internship at Montreal, Canada-based Royal Victoria Hospital.

Dr. Wagner believes in being upfront with his patients about potential outcomes and complications before performing surgery, according to UW Medicine’s website. Outside of his work, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, camping, biking and going on medical sabbaticals globally.
