Aurora Spine introduces 3D-printed cage

Spinal implant manufacturer Aurora Spine on Nov. 3 launched its minimally invasive Solo system.

What you should know:

1. The platform is a 3D-printed anterior lumbar interbody fusion device.

2. Solo is implanted through a single incision, which can reduce trauma for the patient and decrease operative time.

3. Solo’s porous surface is designed to improve adhesion to vertebral body endplates and promote bone growth.

4. Daniel Barba, MD, chief of spine at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, Calif., performed the first spinal fusion with the device.
