Fifteen leadership changes executed or announced by orthopedic and spine device companies in the past 90 days:

1-3. NuVasive named Massimo Calafiore vice president of its new global business units and hired Brent Boucher to serve as executive vice president of global commercial, the company announced Oct. 14. Additionally, NuVasive President Matt Link is transitioning from his role. He will stay with the company as an adviser through Dec. 31.

4. Stuart Simpson was appointed executive chairman at Breg, the orthopedics-focused device company announced Oct. 13.

5-6. Orchid Orthopedic Solutions announced Oct. 12 that Nate Folkert will replace Jerry Jurkiewicz as CEO.

7. Omar Ishrak, PhD, plans to retire as Medtronic’s executive chairman and chairman of the board, the company announced Oct. 6. Effective Dec. 11, Dr. Ishrak’s retirement marks the final phase of Medtronic’s CEO transition plan.

8. Camber Spine appointed Max Painter global vice president of sales and marketing, according to a Sept. 16 news release.

9. Former CommonSpirit Health CEO Kevin Lofton joined Medtronic’s board of directors, effective Sept. 15.

10. Orthopedic device company Orthofix appointed Paul Gonsalves president of its global extremities business, according to a Sept. 14 news release.

11. Biopharmaceutical company DiscGenics named Jeff Poole as its first CFO, according to a Sept. 9 news release.

12. Spinal implant developer Wishbone Medical on Sept. 2 appointed Jodie Heggelund global president of spine and biologics.

13. Spinal implant manufacturer Centinel Spine named Varun Gandhi as CFO Aug. 17.

14. Orthopedic implant manufacturer Wishbone Medical appointed Jeff George to its board of directors on Aug. 12.

15. Medical device company Spinal Elements added Rick Simmons as chief marketing officer, effective Aug. 3.
