Inspired Spine surgeons design system for sacroiliac joint disease

Spine surgeons at Burnsville, Minn.-based Inspired Spine have developed the Trident Sacroiliac Joint Fusion System for the treatment of sacroiliac joint disease, according to a July 21 news release.

Four things to know:

1. The Trident system aims to improve surgical efficiency and shorten procedure time to under 15 minutes.

2. The device has one main screw and two side screws to integrate three approaches into a single trajectory. 

3. The Trident system has not yet  received FDA clearance.

4. Neurosurgeon Hammid Abbasi, MD, PhD, serves as CMO of Inspired Spine.
