Medtronic veteran appointed Biomodex’s board chair

Former Medtronic executive Karl Schweitzer was recently elected chair of the board of directors for digital health company Biomodex.

Mr. Schweitzer has 28 years of experience in the medical device industry. Biomodex hopes his skills will drive its neurovascular and cardiac portfolios toward commercialization.

During his 10-year tenure at Medtronic, he held several executive leadership roles, including vice president of the company’s neuro and cardiac business units, where he oversaw the $2 billion neuromodulation division.

Before joining Medtronic, Mr. Schweitzer served as vice president of medical device manufacturer Boston Scientific.

He is also CEO and cofounder of Neuromodtronic GmbH, a developer of noninvasive optic nerve stimulation for the treatment of neurological disorders.
