Three things to know:
1. The technology is designed for wound dressings, but Vomaris has been applying it to masks, which has been shown to reduce the risk of bacterial spread.
2. V.Dox is a dot matrix pattern of embedded microcell batteries that creates electricity when it detects moisture.
3. Jimmy Chow, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and founder of the Orthopedic Institute in Phoenix, has recorded a 0.02 percent patient infection rate, while using Vomaris’ wound dressing technology in his practice.
“It’s been clearly shown to destroy infection-causing agents that are classically hard to kill,” Dr. Chow said. “And since viruses are electrically charged, it follows that V.Dox technology would also be effective at neutralizing viruses.”
