Louisiana hospital begins total joint program with Zimmer robot — 3 details

Lafayette (La.) Surgical Specialty Hospital launched a robotics-assisted joint replacement program, local outlet News15 reports.

Three things to know:

1. Three orthopedic surgeons at the hospital are trained to perform surgeries using the Zimmer Biomet ROSA Knee System:

  • Adam Perry, MD, of Lafayette-based Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists
  • James Kyle, MD, of Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists
  • Malcolm Stubbs, MD, of Lafayette Bone and Joint Clinic

2. Dr. Perry was the first surgeon to use the system on a patient at Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital.

3. Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital is the second hospital in Louisiana and the first in its region to introduce the ROSA Knee System.
