Zimmer Biomet cervical disc surpasses 150K implants

Zimmer Biomet’s Mobi-C cervical disc recently exceeded 150,000 implants worldwide.

Three things to know:

1. The Mobi-C cervical disc was first implanted in France in 2004, before gaining FDA approval in 2013.

2. The device is a cobalt chromium alloy that is inserted through the anterior approach and does not require bone chiseling or other vertebral anchoring.

3. Mobi-C is the first cervical disc to be FDA-approved for reconstruction of a cervical disc at both one and two levels, according to Zimmer Biomet.
