South Dakota health system acquires 2 robotic systems for knee replacements

Rapid City, S.D.-based Monument Health recently purchased two ROSA Knee Systems from Zimmer Biomet, according to NBC affiliate NewsCenter1.

Three things to know:

1. The ROSA systems are housed at Monument Health Spearfish (S.D.) Hospital and Monument Health Orthopedic and Specialty Hospital in Rapid City, S.D.

2. ROSA Knee features 3D preoperative planning tools and real-time, intraoperative data on soft tissue and bone anatomy to improve bone cut accuracy and range of motion gap analysis.

3. Orthopedic surgeons are training with the ROSA system and will be performing surgeries with the technology within the next three to four weeks.
